Ronnie and Dafydd's Wedding Bands

Posted on by Eleanor Swinhoe

Ronnie inherited a beautiful 22ct yellow gold band and she wanted it incorporated into 2 wedding bands - his and hers!

We chatted about various ideas and liked the idea of mixed colours and mixed metals.  They were both unsure about yellow gold, but because I'm such a fan of mixing silver (the whitest and brightest of metals) with yellow gold, I managed to convince them that we could make some beautiful pieces.

They wanted to have a hand in the production, so I got them along to the studio to come and saw open and flatten the gold band.

I then carefully and painstakingly cut a thin strip from this band to include in Dafydd's ring - the remaining gold was melted down and hammered into a strip for Ronnie's ring.

To complete the rings, they needed to be hallmarked, and Ronnie's needed some rather gorgeous engraving!

The soon-to-be-married couple were thrilled with their rings - "they are just so beautiful and exactly what we wanted".  They must have been happy because I now have an invite to their wedding in August!  I now need that picture of them wearing the bands on the Big Day.
